He is a seasoned development practitioner with over 15 years of hands-on experience in designing and implementing agribusiness development projects across Rwanda and East Africa. His work has consistently focused on creating inclusive employment and market opportunities for farmers, agribusinesses, youth, women, and persons with disabilities, while promoting productive use of renewable energy (PURE) and regenerative agriculture (RA) as pathways to climate-smart and sustainable farming. Andrew managed the Rwanda Agribusiness Hub, a 5 year initiative funded by IFAD, BMZ, and the Visa Foundation and implemented by Kilimo Trust in Rwanda. Under his leadership, the Hub facilitated the creation of more than 10,000 jobs in agribusiness by empowering youth and persons with disabilities to become farm managers, greenhouse operators, product developers, tractor and machinery operators, food processors, irrigation technicians, livestock-feeding technicians, factory operators, and agripreneurs. Andrew champions innovations that improve soil health and fertility, enhance resource-use efficiency, reduce dependence on unsustainable energy sources, mitigate deforestation, and contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.
