Francine Munyaneza

Founder & CEO, Munyax Eco | Renewable Energy Advocate | Gender Equality Champion Francine Munyaneza is a Rwandan entrepreneur and clean energy leader, best known as the Founder and CEO of Munyax Eco, a company driving sustainable energy solutions across urban and rural Africa. With over 12 years at the helm, she has positioned Munyax Eco as a regional pioneer in solar energy technologies, including solar water heating systems, photovoltaic systems, and energy-efficient solutions. Her company is also behind the groundbreaking "La Maison Verte" green building project in the heart of Kigali, a living example of environmental sustainability in action. Before entering the renewable energy sector, Francine built an impressive 11-year career with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), where she held senior leadership roles across Africa, the Middle East, Asia, and Central America — including as Head of Subdelegation in Nigeria and Head of Office in the West Bank. Her international experience in humanitarian leadership has deeply informed her values of inclusivity, equity, and resilience. A strong advocate for gender equality and local capacity building, Francine is a finalist of the Africa Business Heroes Competition and a sought-after public speaker in the energy and development sectors.
