Florien Gumyusenge is an accomplished Electrical and Computer Engineer with over a decade of experience in energy systems, telecommunications, and education. From 2018 to 2024, he served as Technical Compliance and Monitoring Officer in the Electricity and Renewable Energy Unit at the Rwanda Utilities Regulatory Authority, overseeing regulatory standards and compliance in the energy sector. Alongside his regulatory work, Florien has been an Assistant Lecturer at ULK since 2015 and has contributed to electronics, electricity, and telecommunications education through various institutions. He holds a Master’s in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University Africa, specializing in Energy Systems and Telecommunications, and a Bachelor’s in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the National University of Rwanda. His academic and professional projects include smart electricity metering, photovoltaic system design for remote healthcare facilities, and sustainability assessments for major energy infrastructure. Florien is passionate about advancing renewable energy, rural electrification, and innovative engineering solutions for sustainable development.
