Dr. Sunday Stephen Akpoyibo is a seasoned Consultant in Renewable Energy and CDM Projects, Carbon finance expert, and a major driver of Green Economy in Nigeria and other African countries with over 25 years of experience. His principal objective is to support the reduction of carbon emissions through a sustainable, green and clean energy production and consumption. Dr. Akpoyibo is the President of the Council for Renewable Energy Nigeria. He is also the Chairman of G11 Solar indigenous Biz Support Group and a Fellow of Solar Energy Association of Nigeria and the Institute of Management Consultants. He is the Chairman of the Board of Renewable Energy and Energy efficiency Associations Alliance (REEA-A) With qualifications in Doctor of Business Administration at the prestigious Rochville University, Dr, Akpoyibo’s qualifications include Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Metropolitan School of Business Administration and a Doctor of Entrepreneurship from Gregory University. Dr. Akpoyibo is the President of Council for Renewable Energy Nigeria CREN, revitalised the Council and expanded its training capabilities through partnership with several training institutions in the sector. As President of CREN, he worked assiduously to make sure that electricity gaps are bridged in Nigeria. He facilitated the establishment of training and green job creation while advocating to boost knowledge of renewable energy and attracting more investors into the sector. His Asteven Renewable Energy Academy has the approval from the Ministry of Education, under the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE); to offer a two year Advanced National Innovation Diploma (NID) in Solar Energy Technology. As a humanitarian, Dr. Sunny’s Akpoyibo Green Foundation, have single-handedly donated over 20, 000 Solar reading lamps and other Solar solutions to School Children and people from remote Communities. Dr. Akpoyibo has received over 20 awards from different organisations including: the Most outstanding under 50 CEO in Solar Solution, Abuja, Business Excellence Award 2021; Humanitarian of the Year, Flash Media Global Communication Ltd. 2021; Excellence Award, The Association of Professional Women Engineers of Nigeria; and Leadership and Excellence and Nation Building Hero Award, Bollyjoe Media Communication Ltd.
