Martin Asiimwe has served in the Ministry of Infrastructure for over seven years. He currently serves as the policy monitoring and evaluation specialist in the Energy Department a position he has held for the last five years. prior to this he served in Policy and Planning department as a strategic planning specialist. He holds a masters in economics. Before joining the Ministry, he was involved in implementation project implementation of donor funded projects in capacity development and institutional development in Rwanda with funding from partners including; EU, AfdB, McArthur Foundation among others. At the Ministry, he has been involved in the elaboration of energy sector strategies including the current energy sector strategic plan, biomass to energy strategy, energy compact as well as coordinating the team to review the current energy sector policy. In addition, he is also charged with monitoring the implementation of the energy policy, strategies and programmers under the Ministry of Infrastructure as well as monitoring the activities of the energy sector working group including development partners, private sector and non-governmental organizations.
