Saroj Rai is a seasoned a development manager and advisor with focus on sustainable energy market development and climate. Saroj’s academic qualifications include Bachelor of Engineering (BE) and Master of Business Administration (MBA). Saroj hails originally from Nepal and currently based in Kigali, Rwanda. Saroj has over 34 years of professional experience, with the last 24 years in energy and climate, always in senior positions. He joined SNV Nepal in 2011, as Senior Energy Advisor and moved to SNV Ethiopia in 2014, as Energy Sector Leader. From June 2021, I moved to SNV Rwanda. Saroj joined SNV’s Global Energy Team from July 2022 as Global Technical Advisor for Biodigester Market Development. With this global responsibility, among other responsibilities, Saroj provides high level backstopping and advisory service to SNV’s biodigester and other energy projects, in different countries of Africa and Asia. Additionally, Saroj works with SNV country and global team for developing new projects and mobilising resources as well as for knowledge management, profiling, positioning, and influencing.
