Jitendra Sinha

An accomplished development professional with demonstrated experience spanning over 30 years in 21 countries across Asia and Africa on project cycle management, climate change, agriculture & natural resources management, renewable energy, and institutional strengthening. Currently heading Sustainable Forestry and Efficient Renewable Energy Project of Rwanda and Luxembourg governments in Rwanda. Co-founding SAI-Sustainable Agro: In 2013, I co-founded 'SAI' in India, with a subsequent branch in the USA in 2019. The organization is dedicated to improving the livelihoods of small and marginal farmers across Asia, Africa and Latin America by implementing a disruptive agro-forestry model while working on carbon credits/finance, South-South Cooperation, and integrated value chain development. International Chief Technical Adviser to UNDP/GEF and Government of Iran: played a crucial role in designing and executing the MENARID project. His strategic guidance and collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture in Iran contributed to the successful piloting and scaling up of a hybrid development model that combined top-down and bottom-up approaches. UNDP-Asia Pacific Regional Center (UNDP-APRC) Expert: As International Expert on Climate Finance and South-South Cooperation for UNDP-APRC I co-developed policy frameworks for the governments of Lao PDR and Bangladesh, with the aim of promoting cooperation among countries in the global South. He holds triple Post Graduate degrees in Agriculture, Development Planning, and Rural Development from institutions in India, Ireland, and the Netherlands. He further enhanced his knowledge with courses in 'Business & Impact Planning for Social Enterprise' from MIT-USA, Social Entrepreneurship from Miller Center, USA, and 'Sustainable Agriculture and Food Safety' from Wageningen University in the Netherlands.
