Damien Murwanashyaka was appointed as the Minister of Infrastructure on 10 June 2026. He is a Professional Civil Engineer and an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, bringing over 15 years of experience in the construction industry. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Oklahoma Christian University, a combination that has equipped him with both strong technical expertise and strategic leadership capability. Throughout his career, he has held a number of senior leadership positions, including Chief Executive Officer of UDL, Chief Quantity Surveyor at Real Contractors Ltd, and Projects Manager at ROKO Construction Ltd. He has also provided consultant leadership to Century Engineering and Contractors Ltd and Gasabo 3D Design Ltd. Before his appointment, as Managing Director of Preferred Contractors, he led the organization with excellence in project and cost management, driving sustainable growth and delivering value across a portfolio of high-profile projects.
