She is the Regional Sustainable Landscapes Technical Lead for Africa at the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI), embedded within Rwanda Environment Management Authority (REMA). She provides strategic leadership on sustainable landscapes forestry, ecosystems, agricultural landscapes, and naturebased solutions across GGGI's Africa member countries, with a focus on climate and green finance and resource mobilization. In Rwanda, she leads the design of two innovative financial instruments under the LuxDev-funded SFERE project: a Blended Finance Instrument for Clean Cooking, aimed at mobilizing private capital alongside concessional and public resources to scale clean cooking solutions, and a Payment for Ecosystem Services (PES) scheme, designed to create sustainable domestic financing for ecosystem conservation. Brigitte holds a PhD in Natural Sciences (Environmental Sciences) from the University of Gothenburg and a Master of Research in Environmental Biology from the University of St Andrews, UK, with published research on carbon and nutrient dynamics in forest ecosystems in journals including Nature and Biogeosciences. She has received GGGI's Most Impactful Project Award, Africa Talent Award, and Deal Maker Award, and previously served as Vice-Chairperson of the Board at ARCOS Network.
