Jakub is a Chartered Mechanical Engineer specialising in productive uses of renewable energy in off-grid contexts. He leads Energy Saving Trust's strategy and partnerships, with a particular focus on sustainable cooling solutions and the agriculture-energy nexus across sub-Saharan Africa. He is a co-founding member of the Agri-Energy Coalition, serves on the Advisory Steering Committee of the Power for Food Partnership, and contributes to high-impact initiatives focused on accelerating innovation of solar-powered technologies and business models. Prior to his current role, Jakub worked as a renewable energy consultant at Xodus, an energy networks research analyst within the Scottish Government's Energy and Climate Change Directorate, and a solar energy systems researcher at the Centre for Renewable Energy Research at the University of Porto. He holds an MSc in Renewable Energy Systems and the Environment from the University of Strathclyde and a BEng in Mechanical Engineering from the Technical University of Liberec.
