Umutoniwase Anitha is a Rwandan entrepreneur, clean energy advocate, and Founder/ CEO of EcoGreen Solutions Ltd, a women-owned renewable energy company advancing affordable and sustainable clean cooking solutions in Rwanda. She holds an MBA in Project Management and has over 10 years of experience in project management, human resources, peacebuilding, social justice, and social impact initiatives. Driven by her passion for climate action, human rights, and inclusive development, she founded EcoGreen to make clean, safe, efficient, and affordable cooking energy accessible to households and institutions. Under her leadership, EcoGreen produces Tier 3 and Tier 4 improved cookstoves and biomass pellets from agricultural and wood waste, promoting circular economy solutions while creating sustainable livelihoods. The company has reached thousands of households and institutions, including refugee communities, and works with development partners, government institutions, and other stakeholders to advance clean cooking and climate action. Anitha’s leadership has earned her several recognitions, including Queen of Green 2024 by WILs Africa, YouthADAPT 2025 Winner, and RWIBA 2026 Agripreneur of the Year. She is passionate about clean cooking, climate resilience, women and youth empowerment, circular economy, and sustainable entrepreneurship, and is committed to advancing an inclusive, net-zero future through African-led innovation.
